Blog Announcement: Camp NaNoWriMo 2018

I feel as if I’m shooting myself in the foot by making this announcement and committing to follow it up, especially with how busy I currently am as well as how I’ve had trouble keeping up with my blog as it is with only three/four posts a week. But I’m the type of person who always likes to challenge myself, so here goes.

For those who are new to my blog, I successfully completed NaNoWriMo in November of last year. For those who don’t know, NaNoWriMo stands for National November Writing Month, where all writers are challenged to complete 50,000 words in one month. I did it for the first time last November as well as updating my writing status on this blog daily. It was a lot of fun, both to complete the challenge and to have a great community around me going through what I was going through.

Coming tomorrow, in July, is something known as Camp NaNoWriMo. As far as I know, this is the same challenge as in November, save for the different month. That is, the challenge is to complete 50,000 words in a month.

So I thought, why not? I have enjoyed every challenge I have done in the past (both NaNoWriMo and the more recent NaPoWriMo—where I wrote a poem a day).

For the next month, I will be posting my regular three posts a week as well as posting daily updates for Camp NaNoWriMo. The book I’m planning to be writing is a lot more difficult than my last book (the first being a modern horror and this one being a historical drama), but I am determined to be up for the challenge.

Let me know if you guys are doing this challenge! But whether you are as stupid as me to jump in headlong or are wise enough to watch from the sidelines as I fail miserably, I hope you can follow me along in my journey!

Best wishes in your life full of adventure,

Madame Writer

    1. Thanks! And no, in fact, I filed it inside the documents of my computer and never bothered rewriting it. I may eventually go back and rewrite it, but it was more an experiment to see whether I could complete NaNoWriMo.
