A Garden

(This is the garden of George Washington on his estate: Mount Vernon. I visited this place nearly a decade ago and recently I dug up all my pictures from it.)

“My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece.”

  1. My garden in no masterpiece. My sweet potatoes, collards and peppers patches are overrun with weeds. Recovering city slicker that I am, I’m still getting the hang of the green life. I just harvested my garlic, a 1/4 acre’s worth. I’ve got more squash and zucchini than I can eat (must learn canning!). My watermelon are coming along nicely, the first patch in time for the 4th no less! And my tomatoes are approaching that cheerful Christmas red that make for the best BLTs ever! Tonight however it was a pair of Ichiban eggplants that the garden offered up to be parmesaned to perfection over a bed of spaghetti.

    1. I’m so jealous of your garden! I love gardening, but this year I’m in the midst of moving so I didn’t have a chance besides some herbs. Gardening is certainly one of the most relaxing pastimes in life. I hope your garden turns out well!
