A Lonely Drive

That empty road on which I would often drive
Where rows of haunting oak trees stand like
Guardians of that forgotten road, alive
Thriving on water from lake and sky alike
Rabbits run while there’s buzzing from the beehive
Bears and moose lumber across that turnpike
Oh, take me back to that road I remember
Where nature seeped into manmade cement.
